Since the last couple of years, Somalia has seen natural and man-made disasters that claimed the lives of thousands. These disasters include: war, floods, droughts, and diseases.   Due the humanitarian crisis in Somalia, Somali Youth for Peace and Development (SYPD) responded with different initiatives.

More than a million people were displaced by the fighting between Somali Government forces and their Ethiopian allies on one side and Islamic insurgents on the other.

To cope with the emerging emergencies, SYPD has carried out several programs that are geared to help the victims of the disasters. Following is a snapshot of our major initiatives in emergency response:

* Addressing natural disasters 

* Mobile health camps

* Addressing migration and human trafficking
