The Somali Youth for Peace and Democracy

On November 16, 2006, SYPD founder and chairperson Mr. Abdinasir Nur has joined young leaders from around the world at an awards ceremony held at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in Washington, D.C. During the ceremony, Mr. Nur accepted an award from YouthActionNet in recognition to his leadership and services to his Somali community. Before concluding his visit to the US, Mr. Nur described his vission for a democratic Somalia to audiences gathered at the Center for Global Development in Washington D.C.
