SYPD and CRD organize a forum in Hiran

SYPD sub office in B/weyn, Somalia organized a forum on the Role of Girls in a democratic society on Thursday, March 16, 2006.

The event was co-organized by the Center for Research and Dialogue (CRD) regional office in B/weyn.

Representatives from different NGO's, youth groups, elders, district administration and the media participated in the crucial event.

During the event, participants openly discussed the role of girls in the democratic society and the obstacles that hinder the active participation of women in peace building.

Famous local musicians also presented a range of poems and rhymes on the theme. A detailed report with pictures will be available on our website very soon.
